They were looking for someone to help them with their real estate needs. At the time I was doing very well with Prudential California Realty John Aaroe in Beverly Hills but I wasn’t enjoying going to work in the morning. I needed a change and even though Mexico seemed drastic, it did seem like the right moment for just that, a change.

I moved to Puerto Vallarta in 1999 to live in my wonderful Marina townhouse, helped get the Riviera Nayarit board of realtors up and running and got the property management company’s revenue up by 400% before I decided it was time to be on my own.

Starting my own company in the middle of the 2009 world wide economic crisis, and doing it in Mexico may have been a crazy, but I jumped in with both feet. I wanted to do it right. This was an opportunity to create my own company with my personality, with my voice, and with my perspectives about customer service, teamwork, enjoying my career, and sharing it with others. 

This was an opportunity to really study and create my own branding or personality in the market.  I even had the opportunity to design my own work environment and office space. It was a lot of pressure, and at a time when everyone around me was saving, I was spending, better said, investing in my future and the future of those that would become part of my team. Yikes I was nervous.

We opened our doors in March of 2010 as Timothy Real Estate Group and in the midst of a very difficult economy when other offices had been closing we have grown to be a leader in the market place in that very short time.  Timothy Real Estate Group was created in response to the Puerto Vallarta lifestyle. Be successful in a difficult economy means thinking outside the box. It means finding new ways to generate inventory and sales.  It means working harder and asking more of your team. We are made up of a unique group of sales agents and support staff.  We have a group that supports each other and supports the company’s goals to make everyone a success.  If the agents are successful and enjoy what they do, the company will be successful.  One thing we have learned in the process is that we are stronger together than individually and we love to enjoy our day at work together.

For me, the essence of life is has to do with the relationships we have one with another and respecting the incredible list of clientele we have had the honor of working with.
