5 Things You Can Do For Free In Puerto Vallarta

1.- Stroll along the Malecon

This is a must for everyone who visits our city, the Malecon located in Downtown Puerto Vallarta offers activities and attractions for the whole family. It is advisable to walk it at sunset; enjoy the pre-hispanic ceremony of “Los Voladores de Papantla”, admire and take photos with the sculptures and finish your journey enjoying the local shows at the Amphitheater Los Arcos. 

2.- Hiking to Colomitos Beach

Enjoying a piece of true paradise in Puerto Vallarta its free. Colomitos is a beach without many people around, located south of Puerto Vallarta, to reach it is necessary to make a 40-minute hike from Boca de Tomatlan; but the reward will be worth it cause on your way you will enjoy incredible scenery just to end up at a spectacular beach. Don’t forget to bring enough water and some snacks.

3.- Walking Tours

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, with a schedule of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. you can enjoy free guided tours through the Historic Downtown of Puerto Vallarta, the starting point is the Tourism Municipal Office near Downtown’s main square. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the history of our beautiful city and some of Downtown’s main attractions.
 

4.- Cerro de la Cruz Lookout

The best view of Puerto Vallarta’s Downtown is free! You can hike to the Cerro de la Cruz lookout from the Malecón, by the street Abasolo (where the Cerveceria Union is). From there you will have a unique panoramic view of the Banderas Bay, perfect for incredible photos. It is advisable to come up with comfortable clothes and shoes.

5.-  Los Arcos Marine Park Lookout

An obligatory stop on the road to Mismaloya, is the lookout of Los Arcos Marine Park; the perfect place to enjoy an incredible panoramic view of these impressive rock formations, don’t miss the chance to take a great selfie or a group shoot. We recommend you to plan your visit at sunset.
