It’s never a cause for celebration when you arrive at the airport to find that your flight is delayed, but unfortunately it does happen, leaving you with stuck in the airport. Luckily, if you find yourself with some time to spare, the Puerto Vallarta Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Airport, or PVR, has many shopping, entertainment and dining options to enjoy while you are waiting.

There are numerous shopping choices at PVR including fashionable handbags, music, high end jewelry, tequila and Mexican vanilla, souvenirs and, of course, books and magazines to enjoy on your flight. Be sure to check out the lovely selection of handicrafts and home décor items from the Banderas Bay region on offer from the center kiosk located at the boarding gates.

If you need to let friends or family members know that your travel plans have changed, visit the Starbucks located just before the security checkpoint at the entrance to the boarding gates. They offer free Wi-Fi service for customers as well as a great selection of lunches and snacks that are less expensive and tastier than the options available on most airlines.

Or, if you prefer to eat at PVR before boarding your flight, you will find a wealth of options including large chain restaurants like Carls Jr or Wings Army, both located on the second level before the security checkpoint, or a plethora of choices in the two separate food court areas located en route to the boarding gates.

And, of course, duty free shopping is appealing to many travelers and the selection at the PVR airport won’t disappoint, with 3 large duty free stores to choose from with a wide variety of liquors, perfumes, cosmetics and more.
