Huichol Art in Puerto Vallarta

Colorful Huichol Art is exhibited daily in Puerto Vallarta’s main downtown streets.

Besides being one of the world’s last remaining indigenous cultures, Huichol people living in Puerto Vallarta have remained loyal to their traditions, customs, language and habits. They have demonstrated to be true artists, and their paintings and sculptures prove just that.

When in downtown Vallarta, one can admire their psychedelic paintings and sculptures, said to be inspired from visions produced whilst under the effects of peyote. Many Huichol artisans keep or recreate the sacred symbols of their cosmo-visioned town. Having the opportunity to view these art pieces is a true gift.

If you enjoy art, don’t miss out on the opportunity to glance, admire and purchase any of their diverse paintings and sculptures.
