“Charreria” the most Mexican sport in Puerto Vallarta the most Mexican destination

In addition to being recognized for its beaches, Puerto Vallarta is the ideal place to practice Charreria, an activity that few people know is currently considered one of the main sports in Mexico.

The charreria is a symbol of mestizaje in our country, and has had a considerable growth across the country, that is why in Puerto Vallarta, we celebrated last September 14 the "National Day of the Charro".

Starting from the park Lazaro Cárdenas towards the Malecon, the charro parade managed to gather dozens of professionals of this sport. Traditional clothing and horses made the event an ideal opportunity for Puerto Vallarta visitors.

With the movement of the ropes, charros associations provided a show that demonstrated the quality of this sport in Puerto Vallarta, there are also several events so that visitors can enjoy the varieties of the charreria.

Some events are the "Charro Vallarta Championship", and the tournaments that are currently held in the Arena Vallarta and from now on will receive even more diffusion for the recognition that has received this sport at a national level.

Just last September 14th, on the "Charro National Day", the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) decreed La Charrería as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, placing it as the traditional sport of Mexico.
