The Best Time of the Year is a Fabulous Easter Vacation in Puerto Vallarta

One of the most eagerly awaited dates in the Mexican festivity calendar is getting near, the Easter holiday. It is the longest weekend in the year, when everybody gets four days off, which allows for planning a nice vacation on the beach with the family. Favorite destinations this time of the year are those on the beach.

Below we include some of the many reasons why you can’t miss an Easter vacation in Puerto Vallarta.

  1. Convenient location. Cities from the West, Center and the lowlands have easy access by plane, Puerto Vallarta is only two hours away from Mexico City and one hour from other cities. You can actually have breakfast at home and lunch in Puerto Vallarta.  By land, it takes anywhere between five and ten hours to get to Puerto Vallarta from cities in the states of Michoacán, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Leon, Nayarit and Sinaloa. With recent improvements of the road infrastructure, travel times are getting shorter.

  2. Fabulous weather. Puerto Vallarta enjoys an annual average temperature of 77°F. Its location on the Banderas Bay and the mountains affords cooling breezes coming from the ocean in the day time and from the mountains in the evening. It also enjoys sunny days most of the year, even during rainy season.

  3. Natural attractions. The combination of ocean and mountain gives origin to fabulous beaches, rivers and creeks that come down from the mountains, and form spectacular waterfalls, forests teeming with wildlife and natural formations like the Mismaloya Arches. Among the beaches we can mention Los Muertos and Colomitos, among many others. A great natural place to admire vegetation is the Botanical Gardens of Puerto Vallarta, where birds and mammals can also be found.

  4. Great events. When you visit Puerto Vallarta you are in for festivals, cultural, art and sports events, such as the Taco Festival, the Color Running recreational run, Olas Altas Farmers’ Market, and Marina Vallarta Farmers’ Market, among others.

  5. A town with a taste of Mexico. The Romantic Zone, The Malecon, Los Muertos Pier, are all places you must visit when you come to Puerto Vallarta.
