The bus driver on the way to the resort told us that whatever happens in México… never happened. I arrived at the hotel after a significant delay by the airline, and was angry and exhausted. I went directly for the bar. After about 1 hour, I finally turned around. My eyes caught a gorgeous Mexican girl sitting alone, reading a book. In a bar. What a nerd. I had to introduce myself. Without thinking I got up and sat beside her, and with whatever Spanish I could invent I said “Hola me llamo Jorge. No hablo español.” Neither knew the other’s language, but dancing and odd misunderstandings ensued for 3 days. It was the best time of our lives. The bus driver was wrong; some things are too great to never happen. We’re getting married in November

My husband and I have been to PV 3 times, and every time we go is the better than the last. The people are amazing, and we always come home so relaxed and rejuvenated. PV is our Happy Place. It’s good for your soul as you just relax by the pool or on the beach, without a care in the world. We have made lasting friendships there and rekindled our romance there. It’s the most amazing place in the world to us and we would LOVE to win a trip back so we can make even more memories.

One of my fondest childhood memories has to be when my father took me to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico for Christmas when I was a little girl. I was so excited though nervous about flying on a plane. My father still tells the story of how he got me a little teddy bear to give me on the plane and I asked it, "Oh, are you scared of planes too?" But soon we were on our way to a great adventure. What a wonderful time I had in Puerto Vallarta. I visited a market and tried to speak some Spanish from my guidebook. I frolicked in the ocean and enjoyed the experience of being somewhere so different from my home. My dad still has a poster sized framed picture on his wall of me in front of a seahorse statue and a breathtaking sunset. It was unforgettable.

So many memories! But the best was a late season sightseeing trip to the Marietas Islands on board the Geronimo. Supposed to be too late in the year for whales but no one told the whales I guess! Mother and baby so close we could touch them. Sailing surrounded by what felt like hundreds of dolphins. A sea turtle as well. Even the crew was astounded at what we encountered that April day.

Jeremiah and I took our first (and only so far) trip to PV in 2007. It was a the honeymoon we never had. We had been trying to have a second child for more than four years, and the vacation was what we needed to break away from the pressure we had placed on ourselves. Puerto Vallarta was the most beautiful place with the most beautiful people on earth. For those 8 days, we walked the streets, sampled the food, played in the ocean, and watched the sun set without a care in the world. We came home refreshed, recharged, and ready to face whatever God had planned for us. Nine GLORIOUS months later our little Stow Away was born. Now we can't wait to show our two daughters the place that helped make our family complete!

There’s definitely something magical about Puerto Vallarta. My husband, who’s a classic workaholic and has never known how to relax, actually left his blackberry in the hotel room by choice each day and only checked email once the entire time we were there! Amazing. We’re going back next year!

My husband and I took our very 1st romantic holiday together to Puerto Vallarta. We had never travelled together, and thought this would be the place to go. Well what beauty, history and fun! We never could have imagined that this experience would give us the addiction to want......need to come back. The natives were very friendly and courteous. We explored everything possible in 7 days, but on the 3 rd day we went to the very romantic rhythm of the night show, it was there I fell down the stairs, hurt my ankle badly, had to be taken back to the boat in a wheel chair, and was laid up for the rest of the holiday. So I deserve to go back and finish my romantic holiday.

I went to P.V. a little over 2 years ago with a friend. It was amazing. We stayed at Royal De Cameron. All the amazing food and drinks you could eat and drink included. Minutes to the beach. We enjoyed a cruise, tour, lots of entertainment and a Mexican fiesta. My friend was in a competition to drink tequila and yell out a grito as loud as she could and she choked up.. haha. . It was a great time, great food, and great locals! I would love to go back. The picture is of the malecon - boardwalk!

I couldn't choose which part of Mexico I wanted to go. I saw the pics, did my research and finally ended up in PV. Everything was so laid back, just the way I like it. I didn't know it was the Gay and Lesbian capital of Mexico though hahahaha  The people and their culture is so amazing. The music and food.....oh so amazing!

The best food I had was off the street. Homemade food....nice! The beaches reminded me of Thailand. Late night swimming. Breath taking sunsets. I spent a tour with Mexican/Hispanic visitors with guide only speaking Spanish. It was an amazing experience cause I was treating like royalty when they found out I was not local. At long as the bar man understood English I was good :-)

Definitely going back some day!!

This is such a unique spot in the world, and the natural beauty really has a calming effect. The combination of beach, mountains and jungle creates an environment that’s fresh and lush. When we weren’t at the beach or the spas, we were strolling around appreciating all the gorgeous flora and fauna. It was humpback whale season when we were there, lucky for us.

My friends and I happened to be in Puerto Vallarta during the annual Huichol Festival, and we were so lucky to get a glimpse into this rich, indigenous culture. I’ll never forget the sights, sounds and tastes – and the Huicholes’ beautiful beaded art makes for wonderful gifts!

The thing that really impresses me about this place is the culinary diversity. The mix of authentic and modern Mexican cuisine is out of this world, but then they also have amazing Italian, French and Asian food in Puerto Vallarta – all influenced by the local flavors and ingredients. This is foodie heaven.

After a delicious breakfast of huevos divorciados (my favorite Mexican breakfast) we spent the morning walking along the Malecon. The details of the sand sculptures are unbelievable. Seeing a real-life sand statute (a surfer covered completely in sand) was definitely a highlight!

One of my favorite sculptures on the boardwalk is “Nostalgia” – the sculpture of two people on the bench. Looking at it now, I feel a sense of nostalgia for my favorite Mexican city, Puerto Vallarta! :)

Sometimes the best food in Puerto Vallarta isn’t found in a 5-star restaurant

Every time I’m in Puerto Vallarta I make sure to stop for pastor beef tacos and roasted pineapple. Delicious.

The first time I visited Puerto Vallarta I was amazed by it's beauty, wonderful food and friendly people. I fell totally in love with PV, but I haven't been able to return in over 10 years. My children are now grown and away at college and I would love to share Vallarta with my new wonderful husband and renew our vows on the beach as we had hoped. Whenever I am in Puerto Vallarta I feel like I am home and I would love to share that with my husband so he can love it as much as I do. I would love to walk on the cobbled stone streets in town and visit the local bakeries, restaurants and take a trip on a catamaran to Los Arcos again! I would love to win this trip so I can return to my second home with my husband.
