Charities and NGOS
Puerto Vallarta’s local and international communities have come together in order to improve the lives of all of its residents by providing a host of services not provided by the public sector.
Non-profit organizations include women’s health and rights, children’s health and advocacy, animal shelters environmental awareness and protection. There is no lack of fundraising activities throughout the year, as well as opportunities for volunteering.
Some of the better-known organizations include the School of Champions, the newly established Vallarta chapter of the SPCA, and the Becas Foundation, the intent of which is to provide exemplary but impoverished students with university scholarships.
