Mascots, Leo, Huichi and Gavo have attended more than 400 schools, hospitals, television shows and sports centers to promote the XVI PanAmerican Games Guadalajara 2011.
Antonio Omar Ramirez Ortega, Mascot Activity Coordinator to the XVI PanAmerican Games’ Organizing Committee (COPAG), notes that the peculiar mascots pay visits to the community and participate in games and activities at many kindergartens, grade schools and middle schools; and promote volunteer services at high schools and universities.
Since beginning their campaign back in 2009, Leo, Huichi and Gavo have visited more than 400 facilities, receiving daily petitions to visit between 30-40 more.
If you wish to schedule a visit from the PanAmerican mascots, you must email mascotas@guadalajara2011.org.mx. Once your petition has been addressed, you’ll receive a complete press kit, including coloring printouts and short stories to help the students familiarize with the characters prior to their visit.
