During the next 60 days, the comedy film “Brake for Gringo”will be filmed in Puerto Vallarta, produced by Fernando Lebrija and Leonardo Zumbrion.
In the movie, Logan is a high school student, a little unsure of himself, about to graduate. His parents treat him like a kid and do not trust him, but that's about to change. The girl of his dreams, Lina Parish, doesn’t know he even exists. One night, to impress her, Logan decides to take his father’s sports car without permission to a spring break party, but he has an accident and is discovered. After the adventure of their lives in Puerto Vallarta, our heroes return to America happier than ever.
The main scenes of this film will be in Vallarta. The estimated date of release is in February 2013 and the production will cost approximately $ 4.5 million.
At a press conference, Jose Luis Diaz Borioli, Director of Municipal Tourism, said that Fernando Lebrija, producer and director of the film, has made films in Mexico such as "Amor o Morir."
The movie will be filmed during the next 60 days and is expected to be released just before the Spring Break season starts in order to motivate students to visit Puerto Vallarta.
Such events reaffirm the drive of Puerto Vallarta to make tourism a priority. The Department of Tourism Puerto Vallarta seeks to attract more productions not only to Puerto Vallarta, but throughout the coast of Jalisco.
