Puerto Vallarta will host a variety of culinary, cultural, sports and entertainment events during this year's second "long weekend,” which takes place from March 15 to 18.
Additionally, the third Monday of March is a national holiday in Mexico. It commemorates the birthday of former President and national hero Benito Juarez Garcia, which falls on March 21. The holiday also coincides with the Northern Hemisphere beginning to spring.
The following is a list of the seven seasonal events that take place in Puerto Vallarta during the second “long weekend” of the year.
It's worth noting that most of these events in Puerto Vallarta are completely free and open to the public, so make a note of them and don't miss out on the opportunity to attend your favorite one!
Puerto Vallarta will host the first tennis tournament in Mexico of the Gay & Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) World Tour series; a worldwide tour of tennis tournaments that travels through Europe, Asia, Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.

Although it is not a professional tennis federation, there are many highly ranked members, so a high level of play is expected.
