There is so much to see and do in Puerto Vallarta that you could easier spend your entire vacation on different tours and adventures without ever getting bored. But Vallarta also offers a host of quiet spots to get away from it all and really relax. And one of those destinations is the tiny village and beautiful beach of Yelapa.
Best accessed by boat, you can catch a water taxi or charter a small boat from the Puerto Vallarta Marina or Los Muertos beach to get you to Yelapa in just a few minutes. Once there you disembark on the pier and make your way along a gorgeous stretch of peaceful beach, perfect for throwing down a towel and chilling out with a book and a beer.
But that’s not to say that there aren’t many things you can do while spending the day in Yelapa. A short 30 minute hike or horseback ride away (horses are available for rent) you’ll find a spectacular 150 foot waterfall. There are also several restaurants on the beach and in the village and be sure to keep an eye out for the “pie ladies” who sell amazing, freshly baked homemade pies from the beach.
Sound like a day in Yelapa isn’t enough? There are a handful of hotels and homes available for vacation rental so you can spend more time in this tropical paradise.
