EL ARRAYÁN RESTAURANT BRINGS BACK COOKING CLASSES TO PUERTO VALLARTA

El Arrayán restaurant, known for its traditional Mexican cuisine, is offering a new series of Mexican cooking classes for the 2013-2014 season with Chef Alfonso Corona and owner Carmen Porras.

Scheduled to take place every Monday at 11 am, the cooking classes are a unique way to learn not only how to prepare rich and varied traditional dishes such as: Chile en Nogada, Mole Poblano, Cochinita Pibil, Tamales, and pre-Hispanic specialties like Pozole, but also a good way to learn about Mexican history, culture and costumes

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s most popular gastronomical destinations with over 365 restaurants and a number of food-focused festivals. Including a Wine Festival in March, a Restaurant Week in May that will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, the VNGastronomica Festival in October and its International Gourmet Festival in November.

Fees for these classes range from $85-$90 USD, depending on the day's menu, and includes take-home printed recipes and an embroidered apron.

On the first Monday of each month, El Arrayán also offers a special cooking class that begins at 9:30 am and includes a typical Mexican breakfast and visits to local markets, in addition to everything offered in their regular cooking classes. These classes cost $110 USD, including transportation from the restaurant to the markets and back again.
