Five Reasons Not to Miss 2026 Restaurant Week

The second half of May marks a special time in Puerto Vallarta every year.  Prestigious restaurants unveil their exclusive menus, diners eagerly mark the dates on their calendars, and the whole city transforms into a culinary paradise

This is how Restaurant Week is kicked off—one of Puerto Vallarta's most important culinary festivals, which in 2026 celebrates its twenty-second annual edition with a revamped lineup and six newcomers that have a lot to offer.

From May 15 to June 10, Restaurant Week will feature 51 restaurants in the metropolitan area, offering special three-course menus at affordable prices.  The menu prices are 495, 575, and 690 MXN, respectively.  These prices do not include drinks or gratuities.  However, they do offer diners a unique opportunity to explore high-end culinary offerings

But what has really sparked conversation among food lovers are the names making their debut at the festival, which has led to many wondering what else might be in store. Below, we are pleased to introduce the five first-time participating restaurants in Puerto Vallarta that deserve your attention—and your reservation.

Casa Liang

The Versalles neighborhood, which has become the culinary hot spot of the destination in recent years, is home to Casa Liang, a restaurant offering authentic Cantonese cuisine in Puerto Vallarta. Mrs. Miriam Liang-Kirk, an entrepreneur with roots in Guangzhou, is the driving force behind the project.  Mrs. Liang-Kirk recounts the tale of her father's immigration from Guangzhou, Canton, to Los Mochis, Sinaloa, where he established his first restaurant, marking the beginnings of Casa Liang.  The result is a dining experience that is both honest and flavorful.  The undisputed stars of the menu are the spring rolls, made from a family recipe, and beef Chow Fan.

Fuego Nómada

Among local foodies, Fuego Nómada, located in the Romantic Zone, is one of the most talked-about spots to enjoy Restaurant Week. The menu at Fuego Nómada is the result of the hard work and shared vision of a talented crew.  Led by executive chef Ignacio Uribe and sous chef Francisco J. Uribe, the team includes Mr. Filippo Peralta and Mr. Carlos Venegas from Il Pesce.  Fuego Nómada is a culinary journey that embraces the flavors of the world.  Each dish that arrives at your table is a contemporary interpretation, prepared with respect for its origins, refined technique, and an unwavering passion for detail.  You should definitely check out Fuego Nómada on Instagram and make a reservation in advance to experience their offerings firsthand.

Hacienda de Oro

The Vallarta Botanical Garden is the place to go if you want to enjoy a unique mix of nature and great food.  Located in the center of the garden, the Hacienda de Oro restaurant celebrates Mexican culinary tradition with dishes made from fresh, local ingredients and offers spectacular views of the gardens and the surrounding mountainous valley.  Getting there is part of the fun, and the special Restaurant Week menu is the perfect reason to go.

ita by La Tienda Grande

Few debuts generate as much anticipation as that of ita.  Following the closing of La Tienda Grande, renowned Vallarta chef Salvador Carrillo opened "ita: Galería de Arte Culinario" on October 10, 2025, in the Versalles neighborhood.  The name ita has a special meaning.  It was the name Chef Carrillo used to call his grandmother.  It is also an acronym for Imagination, Transcendence, and Art—the three pillars that shape the restaurant's philosophy, as explained by its manager, Mr. Gabriel Arvelo.  This fine dining restaurant in Versailles is defined by its signature cuisine and intimate atmosphere.  For those who knew La Tienda Grande, ita is a natural evolution of an exceptional talent.

Mesón Ibérico

Mesón Ibérico opened its doors in Marina Vallarta, offering a culinary experience that transports diners straight to Spain.  Chef Alberto Lareo, who has an impressive track record at renowned Spanish and French restaurants, has designed a menu that captures the essence of Spanish cuisine.  Mesón Ibérico offers views of the docks and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, making it the ideal place to enjoy authentic Spanish dishes such as Galician-style octopus, paella, tapas, and a carefully curated wine list.  The journey to the Motherland begins in Marina Vallarta.
