MAIN SQUARE

Known also as “Plaza de Armas”, this beautiful square is decorated by a kiosk, beautiful trees and gardens. The sculpture of Don Ignacio L. Vallarta can be found here. He was a law specialist and an ex-governor from the state of Jalisco. The city was named in his honor. This is a peaceful place where one can have a delicious ice-cream or simply observe the beautiful landscape looking towards the mountains or the sea. Here many events are held, like concerts, cultural presentations and art exhibitions and it is also the centre where the Fiestas Patrias (National Holidays) are celebrated. On Sundays it transforms into a wonderful dancefloor for those that enjoy dancing the traditional dance “Danzon” after going to mass.
