The Mexico Open at VidantaWorld Golf Tournament is ready to celebrate its fourth annual edition in Puerto Vallarta. From February 20-23, the best players on the PGA TOUR, with defending champion Jake Knapp at the head of the field, will be at the Vidanta Vallarta golf course for a $7 million prize purse and 500 FedExCup points.

The Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025, in one of the most exclusive locations in all of Mexico, will be a unique experience for both the participating athletes and the spectators: Vidanta Vallarta.
Defending champion Jake Knapp returns to the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld to retain his title, which he won by two strokes over Finland's Sami Valimaki, who is also returning to the event. In what will be his seventh tournament of the 2025 season, Knapp will be trying to become the first player to successfully defend his title at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.
There are 14 players in this year's field who have been part of every edition of the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld since the tournament's addition to the PGA TOUR schedule in 2022.
Among them is Mexico's Alvaro Ortiz. Last year, Ortiz was one of four players tied for the lead at midway through the tournament. He had the best finish of his PGA TOUR career, tying for 13th.
There are seven other Latin American players representing five countries in addition to the five Mexicans. They include PGA TOURers Emiliano Grillo from Argentina, Rafael Campos from Puerto Rico, Alejandro Tosti from Argentina and Cristobal Del Solar from Chile.
The others are Fred Biondi (Brazil) and the amateurs Leandro Mihaich (Argentina) and Erich Fortlage (Paraguay), who have been invited to participate. This will be Biondi's 10th tournament on the PGA TOUR. Mihaich and Fortlage will be making their debuts.

The Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025 will be televised by partners of the PGA TOUR in more than 200 countries and territories and in more than 30 different languages.
The tournament will air on Golf Channel and NBC in the United States and Golf Channel Latinoamerica in Mexico and Latin America. It will also be broadcast on 44 different Tour partner groups on television and digital platforms.
Tickets for the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025 are available at Boleto Móvil. Children 12 and under are admitted free (general admission only) when accompanied by an adult with a paid general admission ticket.
⋅The Mexico Open at VidantaWorld is one of six national FedExCup points events. The rest are the Puerto Rico Open, RBC Canadian Open, US Open, Genesis Scottish Open and The Open Championship.
⋅The field features 132 players from 25 countries. They include 12 players from Latin America and six amateurs. Countries represented in the field are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China Taipei, Korea, Denmark, Spain, United States, Philippines, England, Finland, France, Ireland, Cayman Islands, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Sweden.
⋅Justin Hastings from Cayman Islands, who won the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship (LAAC) last month, will be making his second career PGA TOUR appearance after missing the cut at the 2024 Puerto Rico Open. Hastings is a senior at San Diego State University. His victory at the LAAC qualifies him for three majors in the 2025 season (The Masters, U.S. Open and The Open Championship.)
⋅ Spain's Jose Luis "Josele" Ballester is another notable amateur who will be competing thanks to an invitation. He is ranked third in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Rankings and is the reigning champion of the prestigious U.S. Amateur, an event he won at Hazeltine Golf Club in August 2024.
⋅ Mexico will have five players competing. They are Alvaro Ortiz, Santiago de la Fuente and Jose Cristobal Islas on the professional side and Gerardo Gomez and Jose Antonio Safa on the amateur side.
⋅ The winner of the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025 will be invited to participate in the five remaining Signature Events scheduled to take place this season. If he is not already a member of the PGA TOUR, he must accept membership upon winning.
On an electrifying day, American Brian Campbell defeated South Africa's Aldrich Potgieter on the second hole of a playoff to win the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025. Campbell capped an exceptional performance throughout the tournament with his first PGA TOUR title.
In an exciting awards ceremony, the champion was presented with the trophy by Benjamin Salinas Sada, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupo Salinas.
With the participation of five Mexican golfers and seven Latin American players in the field, the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025 stood out for its important Latin American presence.
In addition, Grupo Salinas, through its ARA High Performance Program, reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of golf in the region by awarding exemptions to four young talents. Three of them made their debut in a PGA TOUR event.
As part of the recognition of the players who made their mark at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld 2025, the medal for the best amateur of the tournament was awarded to Justin Hastings, as well as a special recognition to Mexican Santiago de la Fuente, who was the best national representative in the tournament.
Cooper Wilson, the champion's caddie, was also the recipient of an award for his key role in Campbell's victory.
