One of the charity events in Puerto Vallarta that has had created a huge commotion during recent years has been the one organized both by the Centro de Apoyo a Niños con Cáncer (CANICA A.C.) as well as the Vallarta Women Association: Mi amigo sin pelo (My bald friend).
Given its unusual proposal, Mi amigo sin pelo en Puerto Vallarta has caused a great commotion and excitement among the local community as well as visitors, holding as a firm purpose helping children cancer patients. A bald friend presents the implication on playing the responsible role as a spokesperson on the children cancer situation in society by creating a conscious level and in a support gesture, shave their heads entirely, in the case of men, while women will become shorter at least 4 inches (or entirely as well, if they wish to do so).
This event will take place on November 27th, right at the remodeled Arcos del Malecón, at 3 PM. They are expecting to gather over a thousand people to contribute with their hair. Simultaneously, they are also expecting to gather the amount of 600 thousand pesos, these funds will help to continue with the project for a pediatric oncology hospital in the City of Guadalajara.
One of the main objectives for these two civil associations in the short term is to conduct conferences to educate parents in the early detection for symptoms and knowing how to identify it
Therefore, My bald friend is not the Little boy or girl with cancer, my bald friend is anyone who wishes to enroll as a volunteer with the following objectives:
