The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board will be celebrating the 4th Annual Arena Vallarta International Charro Championships January 29th to February 1st. A cultural celebration of Mexico’s national sport.
Twenty six teams of Charros, Mexican horseman, from all over the country will compete in a series of skill events that incorporate ropes and livestock such as bull riding, high speed challenges, and fore footing among others. The winning team will receive a prize of over 100,000 USD.
This year 17 Escaramuzas, the women of the charro community, will also compete for a prize of over 7,000 USD.
As part of the celebration of the Charro Championships, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board will also join in hosting cultural events including on-horse rope skills exhibitions and live music performances at the Malecon. Featured events include musical and entertainment presentations by Puerto Vallarta’s Ballet Xiutla and the Mariachi International Real de America as well as “Cowboy Musical” will be shown during the championship.
A year after the Puerto Vallarta edition of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) conference & marketplace, the largest conference of US/Canadian media to take place in Mexico, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is proud to report that the record-breaking conference has resulted in over 200 editorial items with over 4 million USD in Public Relations.
