Over the years, Puerto Vallarta has become known worldwide as a gourmet destinationbecause of the eclectic selection of dining options one finds in the city.
International Gourmet Festival
The International Gourmet Festival was created to internationally promote the restaurants in Banderas Bay. The first food festival was held in June 1995 and had the participation of 6 five star hotels and independent restaurants. Currently, more than 20 hotels and restaurants participate each November’s festival.
Restaurant Week
This event was born seven years ago to allow diners to visit the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit and enjoy delicious three-course menus at discounted prices. Usually held during the last two weeks in May, last year’s Restaurant Week had 45restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit participate.
It's amazing how many restaurants there are in Puerto Vallarta! Statistics say there are just over a thousand restaurants in Vallarta and many others in Riviera Nayarit. Food is an important way for visitors to get to know our region and we’re sure that you’ll find a favorite dish while you’re visiting Puerto Vallarta.
