With the ending of May, Puerto Vallarta’s Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) has reported its 37th month of continuous increase in new airline seats; during that month, the newest seats were brought in by Southwest which added 27 thousand seats.
The airport also reported that there have been 1,948,000 arrivals from January to May of this year, an 11.5% increase to the same period from 2015 with 13.5% increase in national arrivals and 10.9% increase in international arrivals.
In May, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board announced that airport, local and national authorities had approved an 8-million-dollar-budget to renovate the immigration and costumes areas of the airport to accommodate visitors and facilitate a rapid exit of the airport.

The remodeling project started at the end of May, which marks the end of Puerto Vallarta’s high season and will continue until the end of the summer to be ready for the Fall.
