The first six months of 2014 have granted Puerto Vallarta a number of awards and recognitions, celebrating the destination and its infrastructure high quality services and tourism offerings.
Tripadvisor’s consumer base of more than 2 million monthly users have once again voted Puerto Vallarta onto their list of overall best destinations, this year coming in at #2 overall best Mexican destination for the 2014 Traveler’s Choice Award. The Traveler’s Choice Awards are of great significance because each destination must earn the award as a result of maintaining at least a 4-star average score from consumers in both their hotels and restaurants over the course of 12 months.
With a variety of places to fit any budget, the destination’s lodging options include leading hotel chains, all-inclusive resorts, haciendas, boutique hotels and much more. Local hotels such as - Barceló, Casa Magna Marriott, Casa Cupula, Friendly Vallarta, Garza Blanca, Golden Crown Paradise, Hotel Catedral, Melia, Posada de Roger, Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta, Sunset Plaza, The Westin and Villa Premiere; have earned Tripadvisor’s Certificate of Excellence in previous years for their constant high ratings on the site and subsequent placement on the company’s top-performing 10% of all business worldwide.
In recent months, AAA also granted Puerto Vallarta’s hotels some accolades when it granted the Four Diamond Award to Villa Premiere (9 years in a row), Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta (2 years in a row), Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort (2 years in a row), the Westin Resort and Spa, which has held the distinction for over 21 years. A year after the Puerto Vallarta edition of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) conference & marketplace, the largest conference of US/Canadian media to take place in Mexico, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is proud to report that the record-breaking conference has resulted in over 200 editorial items with over 4 million USD in Public Relations.
