Puerto Vallarta’s annual LGBT celebration, Vallarta Pride , will take place under the theme of UNITY from May 17 – 25, 2015 with the Pride Parade taking place on the 23rd. The seven-day event has rapidly grown to become one of Mexico’s top Pride events attracting visitors from across the globe and includes numerous activities including music festivals, beach parties, fashion shows, mass commitment ceremony and activities in participating bars and clubs.
Puerto Vallarta offers an LGBT inclusive atmosphere in is Romantic Zone area which is home to many businesses that are LGBT-owned and/or target the consumer, including beaches, tours, activities and restaurants bars and clubs to choose from. LGBT travelers have the option of choosing from gay friendly resorts, hotels, lodges, bed and breakfasts and guest houses.
Local businesses have been busy getting ready for this year’s travel season with a number of new LGBT owned or operated properties opening and many others getting a facelift. Some of the properties to check out include Rivera del Rio is a sumptuous Mexican villa, nestled on the verdant banks of the Rio Cuale River where the primitive elegance of Old Town Puerto Vallarta intertwines with exquisite décor. Villa Mercedes Petit Hotelwhich employs the colors of Mexico in cubist wall paintings and gives its colonial architecture a sense of surrealism. Completely new this year are the beach-front suites at the chic and the stylish Olas Altas Suites , with its beach club Saphire Beach Club and one of the finest restaurant in Puerto Vallarta Trattoria Michel . Casa Pericos, in the town of Yelapa, can only be reached by boat and provides a perfectly secluded destination, perfect for a romantic weekend or a friends’ getaway.

A member of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association, Puerto Vallarta has been a preferred LGBT friendly destination in the Americas for over 60 years and has an infrastructure that is frequently included on leading media as gay friendly destination lists, including TripAdvisor, Lonely Planet, Out Traveler, Passport Magazine, gay.com and is the only Mexican destination on the Huffington Post Gay Voice’s Top 10 LGBT Honeymoon Destinations.
A year after the Puerto Vallarta edition of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) conference & marketplace, the largest conference of US/Canadian media to take place in Mexico, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is proud to report that the record-breaking conference has resulted in over 200 editorial items with over 4 million USD in Public Relations.
