TOURISM TIANGUIS 2012 IN PUERTO VALLARTA

While tourism executives are entertained, Vallartans will enjoy some of the festivities planned during the Tourism Tianguis 2012 held here from March 25th thru 28th.

The Tianguis is the most important venue in Mexico where the leaders of tourism meet and greet. Among them are hotel and airline personnel, national and international buyers, politicians and other VIP’s.

A Tianguis is an itinerant marketplace (having no fixed location). Last March, the government branch of tourism decided, after holding the event in Acapulco for 36 years, to bring the affair to Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit this year. Different locations have been selected for future years. So Vallarta is now set to put its best face forward all day and all night to impress visiting VIPs and encourage the expansion of local tourism.

However, residents and tourists alike will also be treated to special events, such as:

- A fireworks display over the new Malecon, a spectacular show of lights that will illuminate a grand party, a concert by the renowned Mariachi Vargas on Monday March 26 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Don’t miss it!

- The 8th Annual Restaurant Week from March 22 to 29. The best of Vallarta’s restaurantswill offer incredible meals at prices discounted up to 50%!

- The Wine Fest Tianguis Edition from March 22 to 29. What could be better than to pair those wonderful meals with fine wines? Explore the culture of wine as an artistic expression.

- The ArtWalk on Wednesday from 6 pm a 10 pm. After fine wine and dining, take a memorable stroll down the cobblestone streets of Central Vallarta and discover a myriad of interesting exhibits as well as select pieces by talented and famous artists.

Tourism Tianguis attendees will be given very special treatment and many clubs are running their own specials, such as no cover charge and a complementary drink. Also, planned excursions to nearby sites in Jalisco are set up to show our visitors the beautiful diversity of our state.
