Nothing beats a lazy day relaxing on the beaches in Puerto Vallarta and there are many great restaurants lining the beachfront, particularly around Los Muertos Beach
But you don’t need to visit a restaurant to have a great meal on the beach in Puerto Vallarta. In fact, you don’t even need to get up off your beach towel!
Vendors stroll up and down Puerto Vallarta beaches offering a huge array of delicious treats. Fresh fruit and vegetable plates of pineapple, cucumber, jicama, and papaya or beautifully carved mangos are always available on the beach.
Or quench your thirst with the milk of a freshly opened coconut or a refreshing glass of “tuba”, a type of wine made from coconut palm sap that is a local’s favorite. Homemade potato chips, crisps and popcorn are carried in large baskets by beach vendors and candy and ice cream salesmen make their way along the Puerto Vallarta beach for those with a sweet tooth.
And for the main course, choose from oysters on the shell or brochettes of grilled chicken or shrimp. Shrimp brochettes are a particularly popular option on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta. Don’t let the extremely affordable price make you nervous, the beach vendors serve shrimp freshly caught right out of Banderas Bay and it’s a tasty, healthy snack. The shrimp are threaded onto a wooden skewer, perfectly cooked over a grill and served with lime and hot sauce, if you choose.
So bring a few small bills or 10 pesos coins with you on your next visit to the beaches of Puerto Vallarta and sit back and relax as some of our most delicious local cuisine comes right to you!
