COVID SAFE TRAVELING TO PUERTO VALLARTA

Our visitors safety is our top priority

Last update: November 2024.

Yes, we’re open amigos!  Puerto Vallarta has already lifted masking and proof of vaccination mandates, so you would better get ready to feel the warm embrace of our all-year round sunny weather, a world-class fine dining and restaurant scene, dazzling nightlife and art galleries, and endless options for outdoor adventures―either by the sea, the lush Sierra Madres tropical forest, or as you take an early morning stroll down the Malecon.

As of October 2022 wearing a face covering or face mask is no longer mandatory in Puerto Vallarta hotels, beaches, restaurants, bars, tourist attractions and tours, entertainment facilities, taxis and public transportation―though you can still wear it should you will be in close contact with other people in crowded and enclosed spaces.

The Malecon, Los Muertos pier, Mirador de la Cruz at the top of El Cerro, the boardwalk in Marina Vallarta and other popular sightseeing and must-visit outdoor attractions are all open and waiting to welcome you!  Please keep in mind that some businesses may still require masking, and you should be aware the mandate remains in effect for public and private hospitals, spas, and other healthcare facilities.

The government of the State of Jalisco encourages people to continue observing a variety of prevention measures, such as vaccination, boosters, washing your hands, using alcohol-based hand sanitiser, and coughing or sneezing in the inner part of the elbow to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

All travelers must follow certain mask wearing restrictions within the Puerto Vallarta International Airport premises; check-in counters, lounge rooms, as well as boarding gates at both Terminal A and Terminal B require masking.  We will continue updating this page as requirements evolve*.

* Please note this page is intended to provide general information about the current safety measures the government of the State of Jalisco is taking to keep our visitors safe. For the most up to date health advice and international travel requirements, we strongly recommend you to seek advice from the pertinent authorities.
