The Russian State Ballet Mari El brings William Shakespeare's classic "Romeo and Juliet" to Puerto Vallarta for a spectacular one-night-only performance on Thursday, March 6 at 8:00 pm at Teatro Vallarta Theater.
"Romeo and Juliet" by the Russian State Ballet Mari El brings to Puerto Vallarta a dreamlike scenography and 32 dancers on stage under the artistic direction of Konstantin Ivanov. The music is by composer Sergei Prokofiev.
Considered one of the best companies of the new generation in Russia, the Russian State Ballet Mari El is composed of dancers of the highest caliber. They are graduates of the most prestigious schools and faculties of choreography in Russia.
Its repertoire includes Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and Swan Lake, Minkus' Don Quixote and Bayadere, and Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella. Its Artistic Director, Konstantin Ivanov, former Bolshoi Ballet soloist, was awarded the distinction of Artist of National Merit in Russia.
