Playa Camarones

One of the most preferred beaches for visitors and locals alike.  Playa Camarones proudly boasts the Blue Flag International Certification.  This prestigious award guarantees visitors excellent services, safety and best practices in environmental management and quality.

Playa Camarones is a very popular spot, especially on weekends, when Puerto Vallarta families come out to enjoy a day at the beach.  Its soft golden sand invites you to relax to the soothing sounds of the ocean, while its gentle, moderate waves are perfect for a refreshing swim.

For a relaxing day at the beach, put on your sandals, grab a large cooler and rent a large umbrella from the friendly vendors that abound at Playa Camarones.  Or, even better, indulge in one of the beach clubs along the waterfront, such as the ever-popular Barracuda/El Solar or Mangos Beach Club.

Traditional local snacks such as "pescado embarazado" (small pieces of grilled fish on a stick) and grilled shrimp seasoned with chili, salt and lime are often offered by vendors who roam the beach.  Pair them with a sip of "tuba" (a traditional thirst-quenching drink made from fermented coconut water), freshly sliced seasonal fruit such as mangoes, or your choice of ice pops.

Water sports and other recreational activities are also available in Playa Camarones; jet skiing, kayaking, parasailing, horseback riding, banana riding, and beach volleyball to name a few.  Private Stand Up Paddle (SUP), surfing, bodyboarding and yoga lessons are usually available during the high season.

The last hours of the day are ideal for jogging or walking with your partner along the coast.  It is also quite common to see the sight of people walking their dogs or just gazing at the horizon as the sun goes down and the sky is tinted in awe-inspiring warm colors.

Playa Camarones is one of the most accessible beaches in Puerto Vallarta.  You can get there by driving, biking along the Boulevard Bike Path, or taking public transportation.  Our preferred option is to walk up the beach from Playa Las Glorias to the "Los Milenios" sculpture at the beginning of the Malecon.
