Puerto Vallarta is the top beach destination on the Mexican Pacific coast. The environment where it is located abounds in incredible landscapes, both on the coast and the mountain. The Bay of Banderas is one of the most beautiful bays in the world and it is privileged to enjoy rocky formations like The Arches at Mismaloya and the Marietta Islands. These are sanctuaries of the marine wildlife and attract visitors coming to enjoy the abundant biodiversity.
Puerto Vallarta’s beaches are a very important part of its identity. Golden sands and crystal clear waters displaying shades of blue and emerald captivate thousands and thousands of travelers, and motivate them to return.
In a great conservation effort, Puerto Vallarta has sought the certification of its beaches, and it is currently one of the places with the largest number of Blue Flag certified beaches in the country, by enjoying eight beaches bearing the prestigious certification.
1. Camarones Beach.
In the north hotel zone, only 15 minutes away from downtown, Camarones Beach provides all the attractions of a beach without leaving town. Rida a jet ski, a banana boat or a parachute, play on the sand or rest and bask in the sun.
2. Palmares Beach.
South of Puerto Vallarta, Palmares Beach is found. It is ideal for a day at the beach. It sports access ramp for persons with disabilities, showers and restrooms. Bring your sunblock lotion, beach towel and umbrella, and get ready to enjoy yourself!
3. Playa de Oro.
In the north hotel zone, Playa de Oro is located. It is a beach with tradition in Puerto Vallarta. There is pedestrian access from the Medina Ascencio Avenue, a small handicraft and beachwear market, and it is located near the maritime terminal.
4. Amapas Beach.
In the south part of town, Amapas is a small beach near the Romantic Zone. You can walk along the beach or you can get there down Amapas street. It is a favorite spot for sun worshipers and those seeking rest.
5. Conchas Chinas 1 and 2.
Two adjacent beaches divided only by rocky outcrops, they are located in the south part of town. Easily accessible, they are two cozy beaches very conducive to relaxation. There is good snorkeling near the rocks.
6. Garza Blanca Beach.
