Down Puerto Vallarta: Maximum Adrenaline Downtown Puerto Vallarta

The date is getting nearer and the adrenaline is rising. A great downhill biking event will take place on April 29 and 30. The venue for Down Puerto Vallarta will be the streets downtown, it will be an invitational biking competition that will bring 40 of the top athletes in the Urban Downhill specialty to Puerto Vallarta; the Mexican top 10 will be participating.

The names of internationally renowned athletes make up the line-up of the competition: among them are the Mexicans are Alf Rodríguez, Alejandro Salas, Ray Fournier, Ricardo Peredo and Farid Andoine.  Among the Canadian competitors are Glenn King, Reece Wallace and Reed Boggs. Bojan Magister represents Argentina and from the USA Brian Lopes, among others.

The race’s route begins at the Cerro de la Cruz Lookout, it continues on Emilio Carranza street, then on Aldama street and the finish line will be at the Malecon. Competition is divided into stages. The technical stage starts at the Lookout with drops steep descents stairways and alleys, to the spectacular wallride on the corner of Carranza and Aldama streets. From here the route leads to the mega ramps for the Best Trick stage and then to the finish line.

On Saturday April 29 there will be practice rounds from 16:30, and Sunday will be the big day, with warmup rounds at 15:00 hours and the official competition starting at 16:30 hours.
