Since its first edition in 2013, the Vallarta Pride festival has shown the world the best of the LGBT community, and has actively promoted pride, tolerance, inclusion and non-discrimination, some of the more important values of our time.
The organization, atmosphere and the unbeatable setting of Puerto Vallarta, have transformed this festivity and have increased weekend events to a full week and be a mirror for the world in terms of social openness and fun y the best place of Mexico City.
This has incorporated ideas that renew this celebration, from the themed pool parties, the Drag Derby, an exciting inaugural parade, as well as cultural and artistic events, to name a few.
This year, the sixth edition is scheduled from May 20 to 27, and will have Héctor Betancourt as ambassador of the festival, who is originally from Puerto Vallarta and has been a tireless fighter for the equal rights of the LGBT community.
Among the guests are the transgender presenter Alejandra Vogue, and the actress Lorena Herrera, who will serve as Grand Marshall, as well as being the star of the free concert that will take place at the Teatro Vallarta.
The highlights for this year are: the Screening of the International Film Festival, at the Villa Mercedes Petit Hotel; the Parade of the Pride, which starts at the Sheraton Buganvilias; the presentation of Steve Grande, at ACT II Entertainment: the LGBT Art Walk, in the Historic Center; the Drag Derby, on Pilitas Street, Amapas; the concert by Lorena Herrera, at the Teatro Vallarta, and the Fiesta on Lázaro Cárdenas street.
