 Marina Vallarta Art & Market

Created by Puerto Vallarta artist Octavio González Gutiérrez, “The Whale and her Calf” (circa 2001) is a monumental bronze sculpture.  It depicts a humpback whale touching a cliff with the tip of its right pectoral fin as it sails along, carrying its calf.   The calf swims up and to the left of its mother's body, close to its tail.  “The Whale and her Calf” is the largest sculpture in Puerto Vallarta, measuring 29.2 feet high by 42.6 feet long and weighing over 14 tons.
