5 ideas to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Puerto Vallarta

The perfect weather, flowers blooming everywhere and the feeling that love is in the air. No doubt February has come into effect, and since you’ll be visiting Puerto Vallarta during this month to celebrate Valentine’s Day, leave your chocolates at home because these plans will certainly surprise your couple big time.

Breakfast in bed

The good thing about being on vacation in Puerto Vallarta is that the warm hospitality of its hotels will take care of every detail for you to spend an amazing and unforgettable time. Make the most of room service at your favorite hotel and order (secretly and a day in advance) a special breakfast to enjoy the ocean view from the comfort of your bed.

Tip: prepare a love note in advance to be placed over the platter with the delicacies you ordered.

Visit a spectacular lookout

If your significant other enjoys being in contact with nature and admiring panoramic views, make sure to visit Los Arcos de Mismaloya Lookout: by day, to admire how the crystalline waters reflect the sunlight; at sunset to watch the sun melting into the sea; or by night to be amazed by the star-lit sky. From downtown Puerto Vallarta, it’ll only take you around 20 minutes by car.

Tip: if you decide to visit the lookout by day, you can walk down to the beach and practice some paddleboarding.

Take a couples massage

Spending time together to just relax can be one of the most memorable moments of your trip, and in Puerto Vallarta you’ll find a great variety of spas and wellness centers to book and enjoy a couples massage.

Tip: memorize some of the therapist’s moves and use them later. You’ll just keep falling in love with each other!

Beach picnic

You just need to pick a spot at the beach and the perfect time (which during this month is around 7 p.m.) to enjoy front-row seats to the stunning sunsets in Puerto Vallarta, whilst savoring the treats you picked to pamper your loved one.

Tip: bring out your artistic side and draw a heart or a mandala in the sand, worthy of a pic for your Instagram.

Visit nearby towns

Who doesn’t love to visit small nearby towns? Well, as our last romantic idea, we suggest you visit San Sebastian del Oeste, a magic town very close to Puerto Vallarta. You’ll love the charming vibe and cobbled streets of what was once a prominent mining town.

Tip: spend a morning hiking to La Bufa Hill and enjoy a (long) hike together, until you get to the top and admire the amazing view. Don’t forget to seal the moment with a kiss…and a selfie.
