Definitely one of the favorite spots of Puerto Vallarta for both locals and tourists, is the Rio Cuale Island, this beautiful space is well known as the artistic heart of the city due to the wide range of activities you can find there.
The Cuale is one of the six rivers from the Sierra, which flow into the Bay of Banderas, but it certainly is the most special because it crosses the city center, ushering in the Romantic Zoneand creating a unique atmosphere with that bohemian air that invites you to enjoy it at any time of the day.
To reach this beautiful Puerto Vallarta corner, you can walk along the Malecon south until you see the bridge over the river and in the middle of the bridge you will find steps leading down to the Cuale Island. Keep a watchful eye because you can run into some otters or "water dogs" cooling off in the river and birdsongs complement the green landscape perfectly.
Escape the heat walking through the fresh trails that go around the Cultural Centre, sure you will find some funny play, art workshops, musical events and a host of other activities; but if you love shopping, you've come to the right place! Here you can choose from an incredible range of typical items from the region to take home the best souvenir and above all, good value.
