In Puerto Vallarta, a must for any visitor is the Malecón, a beachfront setting which brings together artists and other extraordinary talents. Day or night, you can marvel at the sand sculptures that are located along this walk.
For decades, Puerto Vallarta has become a global destination for culture and art and the city has a large community of painters, sculptors, writers, craftsmen and other artists in various art galleries and on the Malecón.
There are several good men who have dedicated themselves to creating amazing sand sculptures before the admiring watchful eyes of the hundreds of tourists on the Malecon. Using their hands, a spatula, and some salty sea water the style and shape great works of art.
And the sculptors will create holiday themed art and so, depending on the time when you visit the Malecon, you can see sand sculptures such as "The Last Supper", "La Virgin of Guadalupe", "Three Kings," "The Crucifixion" and many more.
The best time to see these sculptures is early in the evening because the sand sculptureslook wonderful in the yellow and orange light of the sunset.
Each artist has their own technique to make these sand sculptures. While most use the forms, some prefer to create free-form. If you wish, you can take a souvenir photo, but do not forget to leave a tip to these ingenious artists.
