Puerto Vallarta will host the 37th edition of the Puerto Vallarta Race, an international sailing competition. The event will take place from February 22 to March 1.
This biennial regatta is organized by San Diego Yacht Club (SDYC) and has established itself as one of Pacific West Coast's most traditional regattas. With a rich history dating back to 1953, the regatta has become a premier event attracting the best offshore sailors with a challenging 1,000-nautical mile course from San Diego, California to sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The 37th Puerto Vallarta Race promises to be an exciting competition that attracts experienced sailors aboard impressive vessels, with 26 boats confirmed to participate so far.
The regatta kicks off on February 22 with a Send-Off Mexican Fiesta at the San Diego Yacht Club. This will set the stage for the exciting crossing. Following the offshore competition, a spectacular awards ceremony is planned at Hotel Velas Vallarta in the warmth that characterizes the Friendliest City in the World.
