Cuale River Island

It is a hidden place in the middle of Puerto Vallarta waiting to be discovered. Visit the Rio Cuale Archaeological Museum, one of the most important due to the great number of ancient objects of Mexican ancestral civilizations. Or visit the Cultural Center, where theater plays, painting exhibitions or dance and music shows take place.

Here you’ll find John Huston’s sculpture, a tribute to the movie “The Night of the Iguana”, that was filmed in the area and launched Puerto Vallarta to the world’s scenario.

You can’t miss the Cuale market, where you’ll find from handcrafts and clothes up to fine jewelry made by the talented hands of Huichol artists. It is the perfect spot to buy souvenirs and gifts.

Outdoors Art

Take a walk through the Malecon while you enjoy outdoors art, and take incredible photos of the famous sculptures located throughout it. Made out of bronze, stone or iron each piece as a whole form an incredible exhibition.

Through this route you’ll find very singular figures such as “Triton and Mermaid” by Carlos Espino, that is one of the most known, or “The Friendship Fountain” by James Bud Bottoms, also known “the three dolphins”. One of Puerto Vallarta’s icons is the sculpture “The boy on the Seahorse” by Rafael Zamarripa.

Don’t forget your camera!

Beaches

If you’re fond of surfing the Northern area beaches are ideal for you. Playa Flamingos, Las Glorias, Playa de Oro, or Boca de Tomates are some of them, or even Camarones, in which it is possible to realize sports events and practice other activities such as flyboard or flysurf.

The beaches at the Center area are fused with a cultural or entertaining atmosphere since it is possible to find art galleries, sculptures and museums. Playa Los Muertos is excellent for relaxing, take a drink and watch the sunsets.

One of the most known beaches at the Southern area is Conchas Chinas, ideal for snorkeling or kayaking, in addition that it is “Blue Flag” certified. Palmares is another beautiful beach surrounded by abundant vegetation

Colomitos, Las Ánimas, Quimixto and Yelapa, are beaches with moderate swell, surrounded by mountains and with lots of fauna. The only way to get there is by water taxi. Find out which is the best for you!

Malecon Arches

The Malecon Arches are one of Puerto Vallarta’s icons formed by 4 stone arches brought from a colonial hacienda in Guadalajara. They’re one of the most visited places since they’re part of an open theatre located at Aquiles Serdan esplanade.

The place is ideal for a romantic walk while admiring the sunset over Banderas Bay. Enjoy the free shows, music festivals or folk dance that take place at this seaside plaza.

Papantla Flyers

The Papantla Flyers is one of Puerto Vallarta’s mayor attractions. It is a ritual that started in Central Mexico to honor the God of the Sun in order to get better crops and improve fertility.

The flyers represent the 4 basic elements: fire, water, earth and wind. Their arms are open while their heads are facing down. The flutist is the one at the top when the ritual begins, and each flyer turns 13 times around the pole before touching the ground.

Watch this great show at the city’s Malecon. It is a unique show to share your family or friends.

Live YourIdealPlan to the fullest, and let it happen in Puerto Vallarta.
