Our city is full of things to do, to the point that you might think that you won't have the time to do them all, but let us give you a guide to enjoy Puerto Vallarta on a 3-day trip. So if you are in Puerto Vallarta on an express getaway, this is what you can’t miss.
Day 1: Get ready to walk around Puerto Vallarta Downtown!
Wear comfortable clothes and footwear because you’re going to walk around the most iconic areas of our city, we recommend you to start at the Malecon from its north end, where is located the Rosita Hotel, the first hotel established in Puerto Vallarta. Along the Malecon you’ll find numerous sculptures, the one you can not miss is "The child upon the Seahorse", one of the most famous and iconic sculptures of Puerto Vallarta, where it is mandatory to take a photo.
Other things you'll enjoy along the Malecon will be the sand sculptures as well as a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops. At the end of the Malecon you will find the Main Plaza and Los Arcos Amphitheater; near there you can also visit the famous Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe another iconic point of the city.
Now you’ll head south until you reach the area known as Viejo Vallarta or the Romantic Zone, here you will definitely have to walk along the Cuale River Island and live the experience of crossing its suspension bridges, now you will head to Los Muertos Beach, where it is mandatory to take a photo at Los Muertos Pier; being there you can rest and refresh yourself enjoying a drink in one of the restaurants on the beach, we also recommend you try a stick of grilled shrimps or fish.
Day 2: Not everything in Puerto Vallarta is beach!
This day there will be a bit more adrenaline and you will be able to explore the mountains of Puerto Vallarta, where you can fly through the treetops on a zip line tour or go through dirt roads and rivers aboard an ATV.
In the afternoon, in a more relaxed plan, you can walk down the Marina Vallarta boardwalk here you’ll find various restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious dinner overlooking the Marina. At night you can enjoy the active nightlife that the city has to offer in one of its various bars or clubs located along the tourist zone or at the Malecon.
Day 3: Put on your swimsuit!
Today is beach time, we recommend taking a boat tour to the famous Arcos of Mismaloya, where you can do some snorkeling with hundreds of colorful fish that will swim around you.
Another good option is to spend a relaxing day on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, characterized by their warm emerald waters, among which we recommend: Conchas Chinas beach, Las Gemelas beach, Mismaloya Beach, Palmares Beach, Colomitos or Las Animas, this last two accessible only by boat leaving from Boca de Tomatlan.
So if you want to escape a weekend or you just have a few days available in Puerto Vallarta, these are our recommendations to make sure your days are full of fun.
