MOVIES FILMED IN PUERTO VALLARTA.

There have been a number of noteworthy movies filmed in Puerto Vallarta. By far the most well-known is Night of the Iguana. This 1964 film stars Richard Burton and Ava Gardner. Part of the allure for the city of Night of the Iguana is the affair between Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor during the movie''s filming. You can still visit the house where Elizabeth Taylor stayed during filming so she could keep an eye on Burton with his vivacious co-star.

In 1987, Predator with future governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura was filmed in the Puerto Vallarta area. Tourists can go visit some remaining parts of the Predatorset in the nearby jungle. Almost the entire action-horror flick was filmed in Jalisco.

Puerto Vallarta Squeeze was filmed here in 2004. This film was released straight to DVD, so many locals haven''t heard of it. Despite this, the film has a fascinating cat-and-mouse plot about a hitman trying to escape to Mexico. The movie is based on a book written by Robert James Waller, who also wrote The Bridges of Madison County.

The box office bomb The Domino Principle was filmed in Puerto Vallarta in 1977. It''s hard to believe this movie flopped with an all-star cast including Gene Hackman, Candice Bergen, and Mickey Rooney. In 1990, The Revenge with Kevin Costner was filmed here. Blind Side was filmed in Vallarta in 1993. A year later, Gunmen was “shot” here (wink, wink). Deadly Swarmwas filmed in Vallarta in 2003. Beverly Hills Chihuahua was not filmed in Chihuahua—it was done in Puerto Vallarta in 2008. Ever wonder why there are multiple Herbie look-alike VW Bugs in town? Maybe because Herbie Goes Bananas was filmed here in 1980.
