Being Puerto Vallarta an international destination par excellence, cultural symbiosis can be frequently found in this cosmopolitan city.
Thanksgiving celebration is an example of this. It is celebrated the second Monday of October in Canada, and the fourth Thursday of November in the US and parts of the American continent, and many hotels and restaurants in Puerto Vallarta receive their visitors with a great feast to celebrate this very special date.
In the US particularly, this festivity originated when the pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock on December 11th, 1620 and had to endure a harsh winter upon their arrival. The following fall the seeds previously sowed gave fruit and thus they decided to celebrate with a great feast. So now every year since 1676, it is a tradition to give thanks for the blessings received.
If you wish to spend Thanksgiving in Puerto Vallarta, you’ll find a great variety of restaurants in areas such as The Malecon, the Romantic Zone, or the Marina, just to name a few, as well as many hotels hosting a meal featuring the traditional roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, pumpkin pie, and other delights that make up this celebration.
