During Butterfly Week, visitors to the Vallarta Botanical Garden are invited to participate in various activities to celebrate the butterflies and learn about the importance they have for mankind.
The garden is home to more than 80 species of butterflies that are responsible for the pollination of the area's flowering plants.
This 120-hectare natural reserve, located about 45 minutes south of Downtown Puerto Vallarta, has been recognized as one of the top 4 gardens in North America. The Vallarta Botanical Garden is the second Natural Protected Area (NPA) of its kind in the state of Jalisco, having recently been declared a State Area of Voluntary Conservation.
