Whale Watching, a unique encounter in Puerto Vallarta

Come and live one of nature’s most astonishing events: Humpback whale watching in Puerto Vallarta. These lovely creatures, also known as Yubartas, migrate year by year towards the sea of Puerto Vallarta during Winter to give birth to their young. This spectacular phenomenon occurs thanks to the benefits and conditions of Banderas Bay.

These mammals feed themselves at polar regions during the Summer and then start a travel of more than 15,000 Mi. through the world’s oceans and seas until they arrive into Jalisco’s tropical waters, where they stay from December and up to March.

Each Winter the arrival of more than two thousand whales is expected. If you visit Puerto Vallarta during this time, we suggest you contact the companies that offer tours for sighting. The tours take a little more than four hours and are carried out very early in the morning together with an expert biologist in marine ecology.

The acrobatic jumps these majestic animals perform, just a few feet away from the boats, are amazing. This is, without any doubt, an impressive and emotive encounter you must live. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, wear light clothes and slippery-proof soiled-shoes, as well as motion sickness pills.

Come with your family and friends to enjoy one of the most amazing activities that Puerto Vallarta has to offer this Winter. Bring your camera so that you can keep a memory of this unique experience. We’ll wait for you!
