What’s it like to travel to Puerto Vallarta right now?

It’s a fact that the way of travelling has had some changes these days, but the essence, beauty, and warmth of our destination has remained intact. You may be asking yourself, what’s it like to travel to Puerto Vallarta during this holiday season? We’ll let you in all the details, so you can plan without worries, knowing that your safety and wellbeing is our number one priority.

Certified Destination

Just like many destinations around the globe, Puerto Vallarta has been internationally recognized by the biosecurity and health measures implemented at the airport, at hotels and restaurants, beaches and tour operators, as well as establishments and services around town. The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) gave Puerto Vallarta the Safe Travels Stamp, so you can travel safely at all times.

At the airport

The moment you arrive at the airport you’ll notice that all the preventive measures that we have been following for the past months have been implemented, such as social distancing, hand and shoe sanitizing, mandatory use of mask, and temperature check. High-contact areas have reinforced cleaning and disinfection practices. Due to all this, Airports Council International has given the Airport Health Accreditation to Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
At arrival, international passengers do not need to go into lockdown or take a rapid test, unless they present fever or cough-like symptoms.

Memorable Stays

Your safety comes first, and that is why hotels are operating at a maximum capacity of 75%, to guarantee proper social distancing in pool areas, beaches, and restaurants. Every hotel in Puerto Vallarta follows strict biosecurity protocols regarding cleaning and disinfection, although you’ll surely find the same warmth that characterizes the hospitality in Puerto Vallarta.

Making the most of the destination

During your stay you’ll be able to enjoy the iconic Malecon in Puerto Vallarta, as well as galleries, plazas, and shopping malls, making sure you wear a mask and keep the recommended social distance.

When planning a tour during your winter holidays, it’s wise to consider that tour operators have a maximum capacity of 50%, so we suggest booking ahead of time to guarantee your space.

All service providers are following strict protocols that have been established all over the destination, so you feel safe when planning your winter getaway.

Sun, sand, and sea

The good news is that all public beaches are open for you to enjoy, bearing in mind the preventive measures at all times: keeping a social distance between groups, groups no larger than 8 people, using a mask when accessing the facilities and removing it once you reach the spot where you’ll enjoy the sun and the sea, always maintaining the recommended safe distance.

Remember to bring sanitizer for chairs, loungers, and umbrellas before you use them, and not share objects with people that are not within your group. To keep our beaches clean, always bring a bag for your trash. You can leave it, once you close it properly, on the containers available at the beach.

As you can see, we have taken care of every detail, and we can be sure that you next visit to Puerto Vallarta will be as awesome as you have planned and pictured. If you want to learn more about the measures and protocols adopted in our destination, click here.
